1-Way vs. 2-Way Switching Explained
Every switch in our standard Linden Brown collection is wired for 2-Way operation as standard. This means they can be used to control a light from a single position (1-Way layout) or paired up to control a single light from two different locations, such as the top and bottom of a staircase (2-Way layout).
Understanding "Gang" Counts
The term "Gang" simply refers to the number of individual rocker switches on a single wall plate. A 1-Gang switch controls one light circuit, a 2-Gang controls two, and our larger 4-Gang and 6-Gang plates allow you to consolidate complex room lighting into one elegant central point.
